MALL follow-up

Yes! This article describes exactly what we need more of: programs in which students can introduce teachers to useful apps. This not only recognizes students as autonomous learners and authorities, themselves, but also begins to address the problem of teachers having to instruct students in how to use apps, if they choose to use MALL in the classroom. If the students are already using the technology, minimal instruction in it is needed--and the student-introducers can provide any necessary training, themselves!

  1. At the school I work at, we have our tech club students create charts for apps that appropriate for the iPads by grade level. I think we could do the same thing using mobile devices. They could brainstorm ideas to help use technology in the teacher's instruction. I really liked your thoughts and experiences from when you were in Thailand. I am already learning so much from the diverse group of learners in this class!

  2. That sounds fun! Your tech club students are lucky. I think it would be very cool if they could think about apps that could be applied to education, as well. I wonder if the teachers would actually use them.... Maybe if the students included an example from their actual classes of how each app could have been integrated...?

Thanks for commenting and sharing your experience! :)
